What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a holistic health technique that stems from Traditional Chinese Medicine and is thought to be over 3000 years old. Thin hair-like needles are placed at specific points along meridians of the body.

The reason I chose this Oriental form of healing was because I like the wholeness of the paradigm it works from.  That paradigm includes the mind, body and spirit in healing and well-beingness.

Acupuncture can help you clear your mind and gain focus and clarity. Acupuncture is applied holistically. Throughout the experience, you’ll feel more relaxed and whole without needing to take any drugs. By looking at the patterns and problems we find healing in the mind body connection.

What is Acupuncture Good For?

“Because the goal of acupuncture is to promote and restore the balance of energy, which flows throughout the body, the benefits of acupuncture can extend to a wide variety of conditions, from emotional disorders (anxietydepression) to digestive complaints (nausea, vomiting, irritable bowel syndrome).

It can be beneficial for pain syndromes due to an injury or associated with chronic degenerative diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. It can also be helpful in treating neurological problems like migraines or Parkinson’s disease, or as a rehabilitation strategy for individuals who suffered a stroke.

Respiratory conditions, including sinusitis and asthma have been relieved with acupuncture, as have many gynecologic disorders and infertility.

Acupuncture has also proved beneficial for reducing fatigue and addictions, and for promoting overall well-being.”

Connie uses a style of acupressure (using a tool used for children’s acupuncture called a shonishin to apply pressure to the acupuncture points) on clients that are sensitive to the needles or just don’t want the needles.

“I’m very surprised and grateful that I can provide acupressure to clients and how extremely effective it has been.”

Prices and times are the same as acupuncture.
